Thought it was a perfect day to take Laika out for her first ski. It just so happens that Fin, Chris and Dee’s dog was up for the challenge. What a perfect morning….T

That’s right, after a couple of false starts we seem to be getting winter starting properly. I’ve been woken up the last two mornings by the sound of the guy in the digger shifting a few feet of snow from the drive outside my window.
Not a terribly therapeutic wake-up call, but a welcome return. Anyway, it all looks a lot like this:

…OK, I know the next shot isn’t in Verbier, but we saw an amazing serac collapse in Saas Fee last week that sent this cloud of ice and snow miles. It looked cool so I thought you’d like it…
We have just returned from Saas Fee. What a great time. Here are the first few photo’s from the iphone. Just gives you an idea of the weather and wind there. Was -15C this day with a wind speed of around 30kph. Not that nice..! More to follow… Toby
Well, we’ve nipped over to Saas Fee for a week of race training with Amanda and had a brilliant day. We’re skiing at about 3500m down to 2500m (equivalent of about 150m higher than Mont Fort down to Cabane Mont Fort if you know Verbier well) and the snow is really impressive – and so are the skis…
Tobes and I have got two pairs of rand spanking new Elan GS skis and all I can say is leave your home or office now, find a ski shop and buy a pair. The most fun you can have on the piste.
