Yes, Verbier’s biggest building site is shooting up top and things look Luke they might be less gritty and chaotic next season. Cross your fingers…
Yes, the interesting evening that is the Performance team dinner was held last night. As usual, Toby got over enthusiastic and started arm wrestling the girls for cash. He was less amused when he was beaten. Twice. Well done Gina and Karro, and thanks everyone for a most amusing night…
It’s unbelievable. Snow is coming down in bucket loads… Toby’s also ben busily getting videos of us skiing / training / falling over with Felix. If you’re lucky we’ll pop some up later…
Yup, snow has kept coming all night and there’s about 20cm around Place Central – these were just the snaps I got between my flat and the T-Bar. But the cars coming down from the top of town look like they’ve got closer to a foot of snow on the roofs. We’ll wait to hear from Mike about the top of the lift…
Mike’s up update from Ruinettes…
As if by magic, while I was sitting here in T-Bar typing away, Mike has just sent down these from Ruinettes. 38cm exactly according to him. But who knows how much up top at Attelas…
OK, we’ve already blogged today but just two quick things:
First, I might never get used to hurling round corners up the mountain only to be met by a rather disgruntled bovine.
Secondly, did you know they’re building a new restaurant at La Chaux. Well, they are – and although it looks like a big concrete bunker right now but we think it’s a great idea…
And it was nice and sunny at times. Enjoy.
As you might (or perhaps might not) be aware, the Medran lift area in Verbier is getting a bit of a make-over. Well, the area around is being completely rebuilt and the lift station (possibly one of the ugliest lift buildings in the Four Valleys) itself is getting a facelift. The project is called Les Trois Rocs and will be a rather swanky and welcome addition to Verbier.
But only when it’s finished.
Because at the moment it’s nothing more than a rather scary collection of noisy construction equipment and mud where the parking used to be. So don’t expect any parking up at the lifts this year and do expect to be using busses a lot more if you used to nip up in the car – but don’t forget that (when it’s finished) it’ll be great. Just not yet…
