It’s Friday, so we thought you’d like a little escapism…

So after everyone banging on about how good the snow is in Bruson Lucas and I went to check. And you know what? It’s epic up there. Not only stunning views and a nice new bubble lift, but the snow is really amazing. REALLY amazing

Not enough? Well it’s going to snow tomorrow again. Not loads but enough to make everything pretty and to make sure the pistes are still in good nick.

Meanwhile, enjoy the six stunning landscapes below (and the one of not very many people at the top of the chair lift) and we’ll let you know what happens soon…

Yes, after a lot of people panicking that we haven’t got enough snow we’ve finally had a few heavy snow falls and yesterday was yet another. So we enjoyed another glorious white-out in the knowledge that about 20cm of snow was falling all around us…

And sure enough the clouds parted at about midday and revealed a pretty impressive collection of views.

The good news is that Verbier is almost all open. Lower slopes are getting a bit icy and polished towards the end of the day but the whole mountain is open, with Tortin open but all the other itineraries having been closed until today – looks like col des Mines, Vallons D’Arbi and Mont glee are being prepared as we type this (8.20 am).

In fact it’s all in good condition for this time of year – the issue is probably that after a few massive winters we’ve a all forgotten what normal New year snow cover looks like…

Meanwhile Felix has been skiing Bruson – enjoy the video.

Yes, the news we’ve been waiting for – snow is forecast for verbier and we *should* have a decent dump of fresh for Christmas.

So depending on which snow report you read, Verbier is getting between 20 and 30 centimeters over the next 48 hours. Not exactly a frightening storm but much needed and a decent enough fall.

In other news the Verbier pistes are still open up too but the itineraries are closed. Hopefully this fall will change that. The 4 Valleys connections are open as is the Mont Fort Sector.

The new Bruson lift has also started rolling but the Bruson pistes remain shut waiting for new snow to open them up. Fingers crossed again.

Finally the top lift at Savoleyres is now open and although it’s not a huge ski area the pistes are quiet and in great condition with no queues so all good. And that’s where we are right now. Looks alright eh?

Yes, the snow has started. Not in the kind of way that leaves you worrying about where you left the snow chains and panic-buying tins of beans. But it’s started. And that is good news people.

Meanwhile Sophie was stopped on the slopes for Verbier Web TV who promptly made her their anchorwoman. If you watch closely you might also spot cameo’s by Pete (we think) and Flori though…

So, the sun is out, it’s been out for quite a bit and looks set to stay out until Christmas. Well, Christmas-ish.

Yes, for the budding weathermen and women amongst you, you will be aware that there’s a whopping area of high pressure that’s settled in across Europe and doesn’t want to go anywhere, so Verbier is consistently getting sunny days, cold temperatures and that groundhog day feeling. Still, the fantastic sunshine does give you chance to admire our fantastic new uniforms and debate if it’s orange, tangerine, saffron or egg yolk. I’m firmly behind saffron, if you’re asking.

What does this look like? Well, epic actually. And whilst these snaps show you that it’s all dead pretty I can also confirm the pistes are skiing really well and are in great condition after the heavy snow of a couple of weeks ago. Naturally more would be nice, but we’ll have to cross our fingers and be good.

Want more? Well how about Martin ski touring up Mont Fort?

Yes our intrepid Martin decided to put DJ and David in the hurt locker and hike up to Mont Fort. They nearly made it but after realising that it’s miles they made a tactical withdrawal after getting most of the way there. Very sensible in my humble opinion. What did it look like? Well like this…

Yes, while the snowline drops towards resort and we get another dose of pre-season snow, Laura and Jenny are over in Saas Fee doing some preseason training.

Now, normally we only put up posts that show off stunning views and waste deep powder, but when these two are putting up with white-outs and freezing temperatures up on the glacier, it only seems fair that we give them their moment in teh limelight. After all, Laura’s hands must be freezing after taking these…
