How Tom P teachesI believe my role as a snowsports instructor is to create a learning environment that allows the guests I ski with to achieve their personal goals, and show them what they are capable of doing on the mountain. I aim to challenge guests whilst keeping their confidence high. Whether it's finding the right drill or terrain for them to ski on, it is my job to take control of the learning process to help guests achieve the outcomes they want whilst having a great time doing it.

I was fortunate to start skiing at a young age with my family, and it has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Throughout school, I trained and raced with my local ski club at Gloucester dry slope.

After finishing school, I went straight to New Zealand to train as a ski instructor. Since then, I have worked seasons in Megève with the ESF as a trainee instructor, spent a brief year at university, and then followed the call of the mountains back to Switzerland. I spent six winters in Zermatt, one in Crans-Montana, and I am now based in Verbier.

What I enjoy most is sharing my passion for skiing and the mountains. For me, skiing is ultimately about enjoyment, not perfect technique or skiing the hardest line. Whether it's first turns, improving piste performance, exploring freeskiing, or simply cruising easy slopes and stopping for a good lunch, my aim is to help people have a great day on the mountain.
